Imogen Smith Counselling
I am a qualified Level 4 and BACP-registered practitioner with four years of experience across the mental health and charity sectors. Before transitioning into the field of Counselling, I worked in live entertainment and theatre.
My path toward mental health training began during a period of significant personal crossroads. These challenges invited me to look inward and address a vital question I still carry with me: "What do I truly need in this moment?" My answer wasn't about status or material gain, but about finding genuine peace with my identity and my past. Fascinated by the profound connection between mind and body, I deepened my understanding through work in psychiatric care and community services
Experience has taught me that therapy isn't always about finding the right words; sometimes, it’s about the simple, powerful act of sitting with another person so they know they are not alone. In a world that is often overstimulating and distracting, it is easy to lose sight of our well-being and what truly matters.
I believe that by embracing a "less is more" philosophy, we can find the clarity needed for change. While looking inwards and addressing past experiences can feel daunting, your body remains a powerful ally in navigating life’s darker moments. Therapy provides the space to move through that pain and foster lasting growth. If you are currently struggling and in need of help, please know that your story can change. Reaching out is a brave step toward reclaiming control, and there is absolutely no judgment in seeking support.
If you would like to explore how we might work together, I invite you to get in touch for a free initial consultation.
